A handyman who was called to fix a home air conditioner has been accused of shooting the homeowner to death.

Repair man Robert Moore, 26, faces murder charges in the Friday shooting of father-of-seven Frank Pineda, 41, in the homeowner’s garage in Surprise, Arizona.

Pineda was at a friend’s house in his neighborhood on Friday afternoon when he met Moore and asked him to come take a look at his ventilation ducts, family members told AZfamily.

The victim’s son Frank Pineda Jr, 20, met Moore when he came over and said that the handyman seemed off somehow.

He was acting just unusual,’ said Pineda’s son. ‘He seemed off.’

Family members say they did not hear arguing or a gunshot.

The elder Pineda was found in the garage, shot in the back of the head. He was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

Police say that Moore left the residence, walked down the street, and called 911 to surrender.

He was taken into custody without incident and is said to be cooperating with investigators.

Pineda’s family members were stunned by the shooting and are searching for answers. Cops have not revealed a potential motive.

‘I had no thought in my head ever that I wouldn’t see him again,’ said the victim’s brother, Fernando Pineda Jr.

Police released Moore’s identity on Tuesday. He was employed at Arrowhead Aire, a Phoenix air conditioning company.

Moore has been booked on second-degree murder charges and is being held at the Maricopa County 4th Avenue Jail.
